Research Commercial Conventions and Codes


I am going to be working on a commercial for Pepperidge Farms raisin bread. For commercials like these the food is shown being eaten or prepared in meals for family and friends to enjoy.

The actors will look normal since its a commercial for the average person who just wants some nice raisin bread. Some props will include the food itself as well as a kitchen and dinning room furniture for setting the atmosphere. The people in the commercial should be lightheaded and happy since the food is really good. The pleasant mood and happy people in the commercial will make viewers want to buy the product so the same can happen to them.

Ill need to make a cool slogan for the product that helps keep the product memorable. In the commercial the camera needs to focus on the food itself since its the most important part.

Music Video

   Here it is, the Yon Yonson music video. After quite a bit of recording and editing the video is finally here to watch. The video is basically a 20 second song looping with slight differences each time. The first time I play the ukulele in the first scene and lip sync the words of the song. After that I use a clip of a passerby asking for Yon Yonson's name.  The kind stranger who asks for Yon Yonson's name is none other than Barack Obama! Due to the lack of actors available for recording I could not do the street passerby scene. As a replacement for this I used video clips from other media and tried to lip sync them with the song lyrics. Unfortunately the lip syncing wasn't perfect due to time constraints, but It worked well enough. In the next scene I play the accordion in the same basic position as the first scene. Genre Research: Action

  This video is my PowerPoint presentation about action movies. The video above lists lots of things that are used in action films. I've always really liked watching action movies so this was my first choice of genre to write about. Most of my favorite movies are action movies so I like to think that I know a good deal about them. The first slide of this PowerPoint is about how lighting is used in action movies. Lighting is used to create atmosphere, for instance dark lighting is used to create gloomy more serious mood. Bright lighting on the other hand is used for more peaceful scenes. Bright lighting isn't commonly used in action movies since it doesn't fit with the violence taking place. The camera angles of action movies are usually dramatic in order to fit the action that's taking place in the movie. Mid shots are used quite often in order to show all the characters at once.
