Intro Blog (Final Task)

 

 Hey there, my name is Spencer D. I'm a student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I take the AICE Media studies class. I was born in Miami Florida and now I live in Broward. I'm into doing creative things like drawing and animating so studying media sounded like a good idea for me. Academically I'm not super great at any specific subject, but history has always interested me. Some of my hobbies include gaming, cooking, drawing, and watching television. I've always liked video games and movies, especially the ones that can tell a good story. Some of my favorite game series are Super Mario, Kirby and The Legend of Zelda which are all amazing franchises. Going back to academics, I'm a slightly above average student usually scoring around a B in each class.  I have two cats named Him and Nuzlocke to keep me sane from all the schoolwork that I get during the week. I try to take good care of my cats, but thankfully cats are pretty low maintenance so its all good for me. Going back to my hobbies TV viewing is something that I always find fun. Some of my favorite shows are The Simpsons, The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Regular Show. As you can see I mostly watch animated shows but live action is a great change of pace every once and a while. For this project I'll be filming the first five minutes of my very own movie. I'll be working by myself for this project that way I'll have full control over film direction. I don't





want to have to rely on others especially when its hard to get together with others.

 My favorite type of art to make is pixel art. Pixel Art (also known as spriting) is different from normal art since your canvas is limited to just a few pixels making every little thing count. Other than that I don't really have much else going on unfortunately. Due to schoolwork I don't have a ton of free time so its hard to find new hobbies. No matter what I'm usually in a good mood though and I'm usually pretty lax. So far this schoolyear has been pretty good for me. Looking past not actually being able to go to actual school this year has been pretty good. It wasn't the most interesting year but all in all its been pretty good to me. Music Video

   Here it is, the Yon Yonson music video. After quite a bit of recording and editing the video is finally here to watch. The video is basically a 20 second song looping with slight differences each time. The first time I play the ukulele in the first scene and lip sync the words of the song. After that I use a clip of a passerby asking for Yon Yonson's name.  The kind stranger who asks for Yon Yonson's name is none other than Barack Obama! Due to the lack of actors available for recording I could not do the street passerby scene. As a replacement for this I used video clips from other media and tried to lip sync them with the song lyrics. Unfortunately the lip syncing wasn't perfect due to time constraints, but It worked well enough. In the next scene I play the accordion in the same basic position as the first scene. If you couldn't tell from me playing the ukulele, you could definitely tell that I don't have musical talent from how I played the accordion. Althoug

Genre Research: Action

  This video is my PowerPoint presentation about action movies. The video above lists lots of things that are used in action films. I've always really liked watching action movies so this was my first choice of genre to write about. Most of my favorite movies are action movies so I like to think that I know a good deal about them. The first slide of this PowerPoint is about how lighting is used in action movies. Lighting is used to create atmosphere, for instance dark lighting is used to create gloomy more serious mood. Bright lighting on the other hand is used for more peaceful scenes. Bright lighting isn't commonly used in action movies since it doesn't fit with the violence taking place. The camera angles of action movies are usually dramatic in order to fit the action that's taking place in the movie. Mid shots are used quite often in order to show all the characters at once. Hey what's up!? My name is Spencer Dalis, I am in Aice Media studies AS level at Fort Lauderdale High School. I'm definitely not the most interesting person on the planet, but ill try my best to explain my hobbies and interests here. I was born in Miami Dade and moved to Broward shortly after. I'm a pretty average student but I enjoy playing video games during my free time. I spend quite a bit of time on my Nintendo consoles playing games like Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, and The Legend Of Zelda. Another one of my hobbies is taking care of my two cats. Unfortunately I don't do much else outside of schoolwork during my day. I also have a small YouTube channel that I create content for where I play some of the games that I enjoy.
