Pitch Blog

 

 The most important task in this entire assignment is deciding what I'll be filming. Although many things are important in order for a complete film, it is impossible to do anything until I know what I want to film. Here I have two pitches for films that I would be interested in producing.

Pitch 1: Researchers dig up the fabled golden calf and begin to investigate its mysterious power.

I think this would be super fun to make, the story is simple but would make for a great fiction movie. I'm not a religious guy but I've always enjoyed biblical type lore so I think this would be a great project.

Pitch 2: A man receives a shipment of insanely valuable goods that he didn't order and decides to keep them for himself out of greed. The original buyers of the goods then go after him.

This is a really cool story that's based on something that had happened to my grandfather. Sure it was just a sandwich and not insanely valuable treasures but its an entertaining story nonetheless. I personally prefer the first pitch, but if I had to do this one I wouldn't be too upset. 

Ultimately I would choose pitch one in this situation. I think it would be simpler to make with our low budget and require less props. I also believe that the story is generally more interesting and easier to follow in the time limit. Considering all these points I can say that pitch one is a much better choice.

Music Video

   Here it is, the Yon Yonson music video. After quite a bit of recording and editing the video is finally here to watch. The video is basically a 20 second song looping with slight differences each time. The first time I play the ukulele in the first scene and lip sync the words of the song. After that I use a clip of a passerby asking for Yon Yonson's name.  The kind stranger who asks for Yon Yonson's name is none other than Barack Obama! Due to the lack of actors available for recording I could not do the street passerby scene. As a replacement for this I used video clips from other media and tried to lip sync them with the song lyrics. Unfortunately the lip syncing wasn't perfect due to time constraints, but It worked well enough. In the next scene I play the accordion in the same basic position as the first scene. Genre Research: Action

  This video is my PowerPoint presentation about action movies. The video above lists lots of things that are used in action films. I've always really liked watching action movies so this was my first choice of genre to write about. Most of my favorite movies are action movies so I like to think that I know a good deal about them. The first slide of this PowerPoint is about how lighting is used in action movies. Lighting is used to create atmosphere, for instance dark lighting is used to create gloomy more serious mood. Bright lighting on the other hand is used for more peaceful scenes. Bright lighting isn't commonly used in action movies since it doesn't fit with the violence taking place. The camera angles of action movies are usually dramatic in order to fit the action that's taking place in the movie. Mid shots are used quite often in order to show all the characters at once. Hey what's up!? My name is Spencer Dalis, I am in Aice Media studies AS level at Fort Lauderdale High School. I'm definitely not the most interesting person on the planet, but ill try my best to explain my hobbies and interests here. I was born in Miami Dade and moved to Broward shortly after.
